Science videos

Most of my content is centred around science, specifically Earth science such as atmospheric dynamics, climate change, or physics.

In particular you may enjoy the series I’ve made with Dr Hannah Wakeford on the feasibility of planets in science fiction, available here.

I have also collated all my video on climate related topics in a playlist here.

If you want to know which of my videos I wished more people watched, it’s this one about where the top of the atmosphere is.

Vlogs

My YouTube channel really took off with my series of video blogs about studying for my PhD at the University of Exeter. Here’s the last year or so of that time in my life, captured in video blog form.

Since I finished my studies, I have continued to vlog sporadically. Some highlights include my 6000km trip by train across Europe, trying out an e-bike, and an attempt to conquer my academic demon of quantum field theory.

PhD stories

After completing my own PhD, I wanted to use my platform to amplify the voices and research of other PhD students. In the PhD stories series I spend a couple of days with a PhD student and film an account of their lived experience and area of research. My hope is to cut a diverse cross-section across academia, showcasing how varied the research process can be while introducing viewers to interesting new subjects.

As well as the above I have created content in a wide variety of other genres, examples of which are below. I hugely enjoy the film-making process, and creating videos that showcase my other interests and talented friends.

In the future I would love to work on narrative projects, expand my work on YouTube to be more ambitious, including a broader team, and make more videos about my love of miniature painting.
